Our Aircraft
Our 2 rare Russian Yak 18 are the only ones flying in Europe.
The basic Yak 18 gave birth to many derivatives such as the Yak 18A, 18M, 18P, 18T which are very different.
To our knowledge, there is one Polish Yak 18 in the Warsow Museum and three in flying conditions in the USA and one in Asia that we saw in Zhuhai air show in China.
The Yak 18 was used for basic training, formation flying and aerobatics flights prior to qualify the pilots on fighters like the Yak 11 or Yak 3.
It has a 5 cylinders radial Shvetsov M-11FR piston engine which makes the Yak 18 recognizable by its engine cowling and its very particular sound that you will never forget. It was designed in 1923. When in force the M-11FRwas given for 400 hours only making every minute precious. Nowadays, wih better oil quality and continuous maintenance, we have extended its potential.
The Yak 18 normal Cruise speed is 220 Km/h.
What we offer
Air Display presentation in flying formation and tight combat manoeuvers simulation.
Preferably, we request a notice period of 2 months to book a display.
We can attend air shows up to 5 hours trip time from Lens (LFQL) France.
Countries already visited: France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, UK.
Our Team
Why Max Team? Because MAX was the NATO name given to the Yak 18 during the Korea war where it was used as a light night bomber aircraft for psychological warfare.
The Pilots and owners are airline pilots. Max 1 flies B737 and is based in Congo. Max 2 flies A330/340 and is based in Abu Dhabi.
It is not always easy to meet eachother. This is why if you want our planes for display, it important to book quite ahead.
